I left you in the softest room and the question is: did I think it through? When I say I'm gonna go to town, I really go to town That's what I said When I say I grind my knuckles down, I really grind 'em down That's what I said If that's what I said, then that's what I said I left you in the softest room: 1) if I had been untrue it's the hardest room 2) with the curtains strewn, they were powder blue 3) with my attitude, it was hurting you 4) with my attitude

ACCOMPLICE 01:41
Peeled off all the skin around my fingernails I did it because you asked me to I drive until the car runs out of gasoline I did it because you asked me to I wanted to be more than anyone to you Ah-leu-cha, Coup d'état Glass is every which way, I am barefoot I walk ahead, nothing else to do Spinning doors apologize for vacancy I did it because you asked me to I wanted to believe that saying less is good Ah-leu-cha, Coup d'état Fa Cé-La, Coup d'état Coup de grâce, État profond
3.
There's a desk with a chair red-seated There's a crane on the corner yellow You never ask anything from anyone At least that's what you say when you're under the gun There's a man with a hate deep-seated That man's disposition shallow He never asks anything from anyone At least that's what he says when he's under the gun
4.
SON 04:01
Took a picture of the sea, it was calm instead of me Took a picture of the sea, it was some romantic scene And I should have told your son about The Giving Tree Took a trip for groceries, I bought no expensive things Took a trip for groceries, I bought no essential things And I should have told your son about university And the green electric smell How can anybody tell where the lightning strikes? Where the lightning strikes is the path to fast oblivion Where the lightning strikes Took a look inside of me, never liked what I had seen Took a look inside of me And I should have told your son about symmetry.

Do you ever look back to where you've been walking from? Do you think about: the distance traveled, time unraveled, time unrivaled by any other day? Do you ever look back to wasted days alone? Do you think about: the dusty corners, your friend forlorners, competing cultures as if anyone was right? I always look back to where I've been walking from. I like to think about: the distance traveled, time unraveled, time unrivaled by any other day.

DOZER 02:14
Bad shopping list in a clenched fist I’m in the midst of a cracked existence Tell you off with a stubborn cough Our arms aloft, eyes fade a little bit The coffee on the front porch cold Sputtering mutterings gets old No one deserves to be told: “You’re gonna be a lonely one” Dozed off again, I’m pissed off again I’m pissed off again, no more talking I’ve had enough, runneth the cup I’m getting up, I’m shaking off my antlers Slam my fist against a dirty wall Free men out in the hall No one deserves to be told: You’re gonna be a lonely one” What have I used? What have I done?
7.
IDEALS 03:09
Step up to the same ideals The same ideals a brother had Put a sticker on the back of your amp Makes you feel like you belong to a camp Step up to the same ideals Knock ‘em down, stomp ‘em with your heel Put a pin on the front of a jacket Let them attack it; you feel stupid How you ever gonna learn that way? You ain’t ever gonna learn that way How you ever gonna learn that way when you’re waking up drunk nearly every day? Step up to the same ideals The same ideals a brother had Put a sticker on the back of your guitar You tried so hard not to fail
8.
You are the worst person I know It’s hard to let that feeling go The shape of things has me on my knees I didn’t even feel at home Sometimes I get to thinking I am the worst person I know It’s hard to let my opinion go The shape of things has me on my knees I never even felt at home Sometimes I get to thinking
9.
LEVITATOR 02:30
I hear the sound of your ankles cracking While you’re overhead I hear the sound of your camera clicking While you’re overhead You’re not fooling anyone, Levitator Seeing tops of other people’s heads: intoxicating Being over their heads is exhilarating Your feet are bleeding lies, Levitator
10.
BAD LINES 01:59
Grew up in a very small town It was half a pack Grew up in a very small town He never got in Threw up on his own night gown He was never sworn in He grew up in a very small town Then he bought a trench coat Then he bought a rifle Bad lines on his forehead He wants people dead Bad lines on his forehead He drinks a six pack People talking in the back of his head: “Kill the people dead” Bad lines on his forehead Then he finds his trench coat Then he finds his rifle Bad lines

PAINT 01:52
Greedy people don’t do much with their mouths They make silly little arrogant bullshit sounds It’s witty repartee and I will not be swayed My garden is a citizen The whole garden’s been a citizen For ten whole thousand years and I will not have fear Brother would lay in the grass Paint the sky his own colors ‘til it all went black Some days we are born ancient Some days we are born anew In infantile years I will not have fear Brother would lay in the grass Paint the sky his own colors ‘til it all went black There ain’t no exit Tell me how you feel

CAPTAIN 07:55
When all was quiet on the western front: I was picking out apples, tripping on country What did you say? You were sweeping up the ashes, cleaning up scenery What did you say? Had a can-do attitude: I was looking for something, it was probably nothing It ain’t ever enough when they put it on some paper I was pulling up my socks so they’d cover up my ankles What did I say? Back to basics Back to the town I love I love you Storm came over the mountaintop: My symphonic left captain playing all the hits yeah It ain’t ever enough when you put it on paper I was talkin’ to myself like a babbling speed head What could I say?

about

THE PATH TO FAST OBLIVION is sought by someone who has felt oppressed in their life (whether it's a rightful feeling or not). They have experienced trauma, or think they have. They hurt others to find the swiftest form of relief from their true or self-manifested misery.

Some want to be remembered for their atrocities. Some want to be dead. Some want others dead. Some want all of the above.

We (DEEP STATE) do not seek to be sympathetic toward those who do harm. We seek understanding. Every human has been wronged and done wrong. Let's find out why.
